The Education Committee’s mission is bridge the gap between our business community and the North Brevard education system. Our goal is to facilitate the creation of programs for our youth that will prepare them to enter the workforce based on the demands of local businesses.

The Titusville Chamber of Commerce Education Committee strives to support and sponsor the transition of students from high school into the business arena. By awarding excellence, building awareness of opportunities and setting examples, the committee members hope to promote strong, successful future business leaders.

    Committee Focus

    • Creating a smooth transition for high school or college students into North Brevard’s business and unique industry communities.
    • Rewarding business partners for their support and contribution to Titusville schools through its Partners in the Business of Education (PITBOE) program.
    • Providing opportunities for Titusville students to interact with business professionals and encourage a future in business or entrepreneurism.
    • Creating a safe space for school administrators to collaborate and problem solve.
    • Recognizing and providing funding to youth with excellent performance in the areas of academic, school and civic leadership through its Rising Stars and Cadet of Excellence program.

    Rising Star Award Program

The Rising Star Award program is sponsored by Community Credit Union, Jess Parrish Medical Foundation and Geico Local.  It seeks to celebrate North Brevard seniors who excel in academics, extracurricular activities and community service, and is open to Astronaut, Space Coast, and Titusville High Schools. Students submit an application which is reviewed and independently evaluated by a volunteer committee of at least three members.  Scores are tabulated and a final meeting of the committee is held to select up to six students from each school.  In the spring, the selected students are asked to provide an essay and their submission, paired with their original application, is reviewed and one student is selected to receive a $1,500 scholarship. The students are also invited to attend one of the Chamber’s monthly luncheons with members of their family.  They are recognized during the event and receive a framed certificate as well as congratulatory letters from our local elected officials.
