Keep Brevard Beautiful (KBB) is a long-standing nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and enhancing the natural environment of Brevard County, Florida. As an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, KBB brings together community members, local governments, schools, and businesses to advance environmental stewardship through education, engagement, and hands-on service. Rooted in the belief that clean, healthy environments strengthen communities, KBB works year-round to reduce litter, promote sustainability, and inspire civic pride across the county’s diverse landscapes—from beaches and rivers to neighborhoods, parks, and urban centers.

Mission and Vision

KBB’s mission is to motivate and educate individuals and groups to take greater responsibility for improving their community environments. Its vision is a cleaner, greener, more sustainable Brevard County where residents actively care for and protect the natural spaces that make the area unique.

Programs and Initiatives

KBB manages a wide portfolio of programs designed to provide ongoing environmental support while fostering volunteer engagement:

  • Adopt an Area Program: Volunteers, schools, businesses, and community groups adopt roads, parks, beaches, and neighborhoods, committing to regular cleanups that keep public spaces free of litter and debris. KBB provides all necessary supplies and logistical support.

  • Community Cleanups and Events: Throughout the year, KBB hosts large-scale cleanup events—such as coastal cleanups, invasive plant removals, beautification projects, and seasonal volunteer days—that engage hundreds of participants countywide.

  • Environmental Education: KBB creates educational experiences for all ages, offering presentations, workshops, classroom lessons, and public outreach that promote recycling, conservation, sustainable practices, and awareness of local wildlife and ecosystems.

  • Beautification Projects: From community gardens to landscaping improvements, KBB enhances public spaces by planting trees, supporting pollinator habitats, and partnering with municipalities to beautify shared environments.

  • Waste Reduction and Recycling Initiatives: KBB advocates for responsible waste management through public education campaigns, school programs, and collaborative efforts with local governments to promote recycling access and awareness.

Services and Support

KBB provides essential resources that enable residents and partner organizations to participate in environmental stewardship:

  • Cleanup supplies, including grabbers, gloves, bags, and safety gear

  • Volunteer coordination and event management

  • Educational materials and outreach support

  • Training for group leaders and school partners

  • Data tracking to measure environmental impact

This hands-on support removes barriers to participation and ensures that cleanup and beautification efforts are effective, safe, and sustainable.

Community Impact

Each year, KBB mobilizes thousands of volunteers who collectively remove tons of litter from waterways, shorelines, roadsides, and public spaces. These efforts not only enhance the county’s natural beauty but also protect wildlife, reduce pollution, and strengthen community pride. KBB’s collaborations with schools introduce young people to environmental responsibility, while partnerships with businesses and civic groups reinforce a shared commitment to keeping Brevard clean and sustainable.

A Countywide Collaboration

KBB’s success is built on a foundation of community partnership. By working closely with residents, local governments, nonprofit organizations, and businesses, KBB ensures that environmental stewardship is a shared, long-term effort. The organization serves as both a resource and a unifying force, bringing together diverse groups to care for Brevard’s natural and built environments.
