The Merritt Island Wildlife Association (MIWA) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit friend’s organization partnered with the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge Complex. This complex includes the Merritt Island NWR, Saint John NWR, and Lake Woodruff NWR.

Our purpose is to promote conservation, awareness, and appreciation of these refuges and to provide assistance to refuge programs.

Since 1994, MIWA has relied on donations, membership dues, grant awards, and the generosity of private businesses and companies to help provide funds, materials, and resources to assist in our efforts. We also operate The Bookery, a nature-based bookstore located in the Merritt Island NW Visitor’s Center, with all proceeds going directly towards supporting refuge projects.

We can be found online at www.merrittislandwildlife.org. For more information or question please contact us at the MIWA office at (321) 861 -2377.
